Dear Wayne,

I’ve recently purchased two electric banjos from you and I’d like to tell you how much I love them.  I’ve been playing banjo over 40 years and I own several very fine banjos and I’m excited to add the EBM and the Dojo DLX to the collection!  In the 70s I had to “electrify” my banjos myself and in the more traditional bluegrass circles it was frowned upon but there was a place for amplified banjo back then and there is certainly a place for electric banjos today!  Nowadays, there are several brands of electric banjos available, but the Goldtone EBM & Dojo DLX are superb!

Part of my musical journey has included studying classical Indian music on the banjo tuned to Indian tuning.  The Dojo DLX with its unique tone and smooth sustain adapts well to this special tuning and is one of my banjos dedicated for that mode of playing.  Dojo has a gorgeous look and comfortable fit, truly well designed and balanced between beauty and performance.  The ability to blend the magnetic pickup with the transducer is the real secret in the electric sound.  It is truly best to have both worlds.  I would recommend a Dojo to anyone who loves to play banjo and seeks a unique sound.

If Jimi Hendrix played the banjo, he would have wanted an EBM!  The EBM was a smashing success the first time I played out with it.  “Sexy banjo!” is what they were saying!  This banjo has a great look for the stage.  The first time you strap it on you’ll notice how comfortably balanced it is and how easy it is to play.  I’m very turned on by the look and feel of my EBM.  It sounded great and was easy to play when it was stock, now, after a few customizations I have truly bonded with this “sexy banjo.”

The Goldtone electric banjos are a terrific value as one might expect to pay much more for instruments of this quality and design.   The folks at Goldtone are enthusiastic and fun to talk with.  Getting to know Goldtone has been a great experience and I look forward to adding more of their special instruments to my fold.

Sincerely,

Eric Van der Wyk
