Sliding Mag Pick-up (SMP)

The SMP (Sliding Mag Pick-up) was designed by Gold Tone. Compared to a transducer style pickup which has a thin trebley tone, the SMP has a superior full sound.

Installation is simple providing there is adequate space between the coordinator rod and head. Normally the 1/4" input jack is installed in the space between the second and third hook above the tailpiece. This location allows the cable to be easily inserted while the player is sitting down with the banjo.

• May be positioned in a variety of locations for different tonal qualities (towards the bridge the treble will increase, towards the neck the bass will increase)
• Requires no pre-amp
• Feedback is not a problem

The SMP pick-up is standard on our Banjitars (except for the CC Model) and our Bass Banjo. It is an option on any other Gold Tone Banjo and is available as an accessory for other banjos. It comes with the 1/4" input jack, wiring, tie wraps, spacers, backing plate and instructions.
