Got my new Banjo today! It was well worth the wait. Built very well, beautiful to look at and the sound is excellent! I will definitely recommend your company and your products to everyone. My fingers are sore! Ha! Ha!
I hadn't played since about 1979. It frets very easily too. I love it and appreciate your patience with me and my inquiries.- Ron |
I received the banjo (ob-250+) last week, and wanted to play it a bit before commenting--and I can't say a bad thing about it. It just sounds and plays like a dream, its hard to put down, and makes med school that much harder to study for. Thanks so much. What a great banjo, I could not be happier.- Austin |
I own a 20 year old banjo that was hand made in Kentucky and is an absolute delight. I didn't think anything would come close to it but I figured a "storebought" could be my workhorse, campfire banjo. Surprise. The OB250+ is a real gem with a slightly stronger voice than my handmade. I like it as much or more than my old banjo. It feels great to play and with a few hundred hours of playing will get even better. The neck, with its tiger stripes and the inlay and all are pleasing just to look at and even the case is a cut above other cases!- Don Australia |
I have gotten a lot of good comments on the sound of the OB-250+. I love it! I went to a group and was talking to the banjo player. He said he has played them all and Goldtone was the best sound and value going. I agree. I have just started playing out in jams and my 250+ rings right along.- Tony McGhee |
Hello Goldtone. It's almost a year ago I bought my OB250+, very nice banjo and everyone who plays it loves it. I put a rock maple block rim into it and man it screams even more. I played the gibsons here in Australia for $10,000. The finish was poor and the neck fretboards sit up high above the head, level with the top of the tension hoop. I played them your Goldtone after their banjos and you could clearly tell mine was better louder and sweeter. The shop assistants where very quite and said nothing. LOL Of course there was an $8000 price difference. No one sets up the new gibsons here in shops and they are only creating bad feedback for themselves. I have heard good gibsons here but all older ones. Goldtone are great value and sound. Well done.

Wayne,
I think that's an excellent move. Thanks for the order.
PS. I ordered the top of the line Recording Kind (the engraved one) and I only had it out of the box for 1/2 hour before I packed it up and sent it back. It was a horrible disappointment in appearance and sound compared to your OB-250+. For value and price, you're still the top dog and I continue to recommend your product.

Wayne and Robyn, Thanks for the OB250+ - It looks and sounds GREAT! It plays good up the neck and sounds good. I ordered it through... Thanks for picking me out a good sounding banjo & the set-up. The case was also nice! Thanks again for your help. Keep up the good work! David Peterson 5/2010
