Mr. Rogers,

Last fall I finally decided to attempt a lifelong dream of learning to play the banjo.

Trouble was, I knew nothing about them, and was too scared even to strum the models on display in local music stores.

Finally, I took the plunge and ordered the Gold Tone CC-OT from.... I simply took a chance on this model because it looked old-timey to me. The gig bag, strap, and instructional video made it a very attractive package.

Six months later I can make some music, thanks to the video, some other learning resources, and a lot of practicing.

Well I finally made it back to the music store, and this time had the guts to actually sit down and try playing the many different open-back banjos they had on display.

Beginner models by other manufacturers, similarly priced to the CC-OT, had noticeably poorer quality construction. They looked and felt cheap.

Also I tried several used and new instruments priced much higher than the CC-OT. The tone of these other instruments disappointed me. Most sounded very dull and subdued, whereas the CC-OT sound has a nice, bright ring to it.

I left the store feeling very satisfied that the CC-OT is a great instrument for the price - - and I’m very happy to stick with this banjo, for now, anyway!

Sincerely,

Eric Young
