10 string bluegrass banjo (think 12 string guitar). The strings are arranged in pairs with unisons on the first, second, and fifth string and octaves on the third and fourth. Easily played by any five string banjoist. 9th and 10th string feature a tunnel system under the fingerboard and are tuned at the headstock. The tone is loud and penetrating with added sustain. To reduce overtones we have used our extended 3-ply wood rim which eliminates the tone ring and the weight. We have discovered that the 9th and 10th string can be tuned to an interval (e.p. G and D) for a unique sounding drone.
