GME-4

This solid body 4 string electic mandolin is great for Texas swing, folk, and even Rock N' Roll. The maple radiused fingerboard plays very quickly. The stacked humbucking pickup is extremely quiet for recording and includes tone and volume control.

Hi-
I just received my GME-4 and am very pleased this unique instrument!
I play "tropical rock" with my working band called "The Quitters", based across the state from you in Spring Hill, FL. Our repertoire ranges from calypso and reggae to Pink Floyd, and I manage to work mandolin into most of it. I chose this mandolin based on the outstanding specs and hardware that's suited for cranked-up performance through a Twin Reverb, and it's everything I'd hoped it would be. There's no other solidbody mandolin that can touch this thing!

I'm very happy with the instrument and with Gold Tone, and I'll be posting performance video with the GME-4.

  Thanks!

Hey Tommy,

It was nice to speak with you about my new toy - a Gold Tone GME-4 mandolin.  I would like to offer my testimonial about the product.

I recently aquired a new Gold Tone GME-4 mandolin for my birthday.  Actually, I stopped in my favorite toy(music) store not too long ago.  The owner told me he had something he knew I would be interested in and handed me the mandolin.  He gave me a cord and said "Have Fun!!!"  I played it for about 10 minutes and told him I had to have it.  A few weeks later, my sweetie and mom bought it for me.  I am a very serious player - almost exclusively blues, funk and R&B.  I use an Alesis stereo effects board, distortion pedal, and a '68 Cry Baby wah pedal, so I have wanted a 'solid body' mandolin sound for many years.  I was AMAZED at the quality of the GME-4 and have played it about 6 hours a day since I got it.  I am especially impressed with the neck - it plays wonderfully AND the fretboard is perfect !!!  I have been playing an Ovation MM68(1996 Amerian made) for the last 15 years and was unable to find ANY solid body mandolin I really liked.  So far, the only complaint I have is the pickup(makes more noise than I prefer) - I like a 'hotter' one, so I will be changing pickups.  I will let you know what I discover.  PEACE, Jerry Fiddler
