Hi,
My name is James and I recently purchased a Gold Tone GT 500 Banjitar online through Ross Nickerson at Banjoteacher.com. I would just like to let you know what a magnificent instrument I have found it to be. In the flesh it is better than I had dared to imagine. It looks, feels, but most importantly, sounds incredible. It has volume in the lower E and A strings that several luthiers have told me is simply not possible on a banjitar. Its tone and sustain makes my old Martinez sound like some trashy toy (I can hear you snickering all the way from Australia by the way). The set-up was just superb and perfectly suits my playing style. My income from busking has literally doubled since I took delivery of this beautiful masterpiece and I don't think it's because my singing has improved at all :~} Plugged in the humbucker really does the instrument justice, and on stage I can now just forget about all that mucking about with piezos, preamps and DI boxes.
I showed this instrument to Tim, a highly respected Adelaide luthier and retailer, and after I eventually wrenched it back out of his hands he said it was simply the best banjitar he had ever seen. He currently stocks Tanglewood and Marinez and may well make a dealer enquiry soon. At the very least he wants to know what brand of strings you use, which was actually the original reason for this email. Nobody seems to stock strings with loop ends over here, and I would like to know how I could get hold of some spare sets.
Cheers,
James
PS. Feel free to use this as a testimonial (minus surnames of course) and please let me know if you would like me to write an online review. Thank you for the pride that your staff obviously have in your fantastic products. It really shows!- James Australia |
