PS-250 (Plectrum Special)
Exceptional tone and exquisite looks! The Plectrum banjo is enjoying a resurgence of popularity here in the US and overseas. Our PS-250 is a replica of vintage design with penetrating tone that is a welcome addition to all four string players. This four-string plectrum banjo is set up to play with "low-action" for easy chording and maximum speed. Includes a one piece flange and 14" mahogany resonator. This 22-fret plectrum banjo is normally tuned in the traditional CGBD tuning or the DGBE Chicago tuning.

Wayne, I just received my new Plectrum with white ladye tone ring. The instrument is wonderful! The sound is exactly what I wanted. I like a deep bass end with mellow high notes. I always sing with my banjos and the open back design with white ladye tone ring are great with my voice. I like the frosted head and will enjoy wearing the frost off. My wife was amazed at the quality of the instrument and loves its sound. I too am impressed with your workmanship. You do an amazing job! I am a well rounded player that picks as well as frails the 5 string. I still have one of my own I built in '93 I use for that. This one will be used in tenor guitar tuning, plectrum tuning and 5 string tuning minus the 5th. string. I can strum and pick in these tunings. Basically I love the instrument! Thank you! Thank You! I am currently the guitar/banjo player on the Mary Poppins UK Tour and am using a Gold Tone Plectrum Banjo. I just want to congratulate Gold Tone on making a banjo that sounds so good that I've hardly even been threatened by the other band members. After seeking the advice of Andy Perkins, www.andybanjo.com , I ended up choosing the Gold Tone as it simply sounded so much better than any of his other banjos. Unfortunately it was also the most expensive and the heaviest but it is certainley worth the money. In fact, far from being a threat to my health, the Gold Tone plectrum banjo has actually improved my relationship. The show has many very quick changes between instruments has led to me having a much more toned upper body. The girlfriend loves that. So thank you Gold Tone. - Dan Bowtell UK |
