PC-Banjola (Pat Cloud Banjola)
In 2004, We received an e-mail from Pat Cloud. He had bought a Banjola at McCabes in California and was now residing in Japan working for Disney. Pat was extremely complementary about his purchase. The playability and the sustaining tone was renewing his interest in the 5-string. He said he was planning a whole CD recording of the Banjola, his first in 20 years. He inquired about a pickup and we immediately thought of the possibility of a "Pat Cloud" model Banjola. After numerous emails and discussion, the PC-Banjola was born.
Here are some of Pat's comments after receiving his PC-Banjola:
"Wayne, the Banjola arrived and it is just gorgeous! I love the solid feel and the action is perfect. I just love it. It gets better and better every time I pick it up. It's perfect for me. This Friday is my day off and i am going into Tokyo to try some amps out. My whole life has been in exploration of the "five string system" usually attached to banjo, but now attached to an exciting new instrument which satisfies my need for mellow sustain and jazz chord soloing. This top professional banjola has many upgrades from our original highly successful Banjola. A wider body, pin style bridge (Instead of floating), maple/abalone full body binding, multi layered veneer back of headstock, rising sun inlay, maple heel cap, and a dual stereo out transducer/magnetic pick up. A great stage instrument as the amplified tone is unique and sustaining, and it has a very "fat" tone because of the stereo pick up arrangement.."
