GM-6 (GM-6 Mandolin)
See which artists are playing this: Max Cavalera of Soulfly
The GM-6 is designed for guitarists and is tuned one octave higher than a regular guitar. It can provide the chop rhythm for bluegrass or country music without learning mandolin. A competitor offers a similar mando-guitar selling for over $2,000 and has a flat and more narrow fingerboard. The radiused fingerboard and wider neck allows for easier fingering. String action is super low and lead lines may be played very rapidly. This is a must instrument for guitarists in bluegrass jams and lends itself well in recording applications. It plays an octave above guitar.

I am Josh Graves Jr. I have been in the music business about all of my life. I worked with my Dad The late Josh Graves Dobro legend and his partner Kenny Baker. I have a new group now and will have a new CD out soon.
I was looking at a music store on the internet when I read about the new GM-6 Mandolin..Gold Tone has. This was to good to be true.
With my present group I had two guitars and no mandolin player.
The GM-6 has solved the problem of two guitars. I now play the GM-6 which is easy for me to play and the sound is the same as a regular Mandolin.
This is an amazing instrument, and more and more groups will be taking the GM-6 up for the mandolin sound.
...

I wanted a mandolin but chose the GM6 because the guitar fingering.
I am thrilled with this little guy. I take it every where. I did not play guitar before so now I am in essence learning both the GM6 and Guitar.
Its size, sound and price made it perfect for my needs. My husband plays guitar so now I can join him on lazy summer nights on the back porch and we sound like a blue grass band.
WOOOO-HOOOO
I love this instrument!. Lots of \"real musicians\" talk it down but all my musician friends here in Nashville love the tone and size.
Thank you for your info on this instrument. You helped me decide to buy it.
